Sync settings set your preferences for how your inventory is restocked, how deleted products are synced and your primary categories for selling on eBay. The settings are accessible by selecting eBay, then Account, then Sync Settings.
The default settings upon installing the eBay sales channel are as follows
Maintaining separate eBay and Shopify quantities, while still deducting quantity for sales, provides the option to send a lower inventory quantity to eBay and keep inventory quantity synced due to sales on both eBay and Shopify.
When using the separate inventory option, it is recommended to use the option to automatically restock eBay inventory. This way, as quantity is reduced on eBay, due to sales that occur on eBay, quantity is automatically restocked from Shopify to eBay as long as sufficient inventory exists on Shopify. Should you choose to disable automatically restock, your eBay listings will not restock from Shopify.
Another option for inventory quantity management is to keep quantity with eBay in sync with Shopify. This means that eBay quantity will always match what is available in the Shopify quantity field.
If products in Shopify are set to allow purchase when out of stock, the restock products that are set to allow customers to purchase when out of stock on Shopify setting lets you choose what happens on eBay with regards to inventory quantity.
If disabled, when an item reaches 0 quantity in Shopify, and uses the allow purchase setting in Shopify, eBay will not be restocked.
If enabled, when an item reaches 0 quantity is Shopify, and uses the allow purchase setting in Shopify, eBay will be restocked to a quantity of 1 after each sale of the item that occurs on eBay.
To end eBay listings if the corresponding Shopify product is deleted, select end eBay item if product is deleted. If this setting remains un-selected, the eBay listings will remain in a live status on eBay, even if the corresponding product is deleted in Shopify.
To sync images changes from Shopify to eBay, select sync image updates from Shopify to eBay for published products. Any images changes made to the Shopify product, will also update eBay.
If selected, when linking existing eBay listings to existing Shopify products, the Shopify images will overwrite the existing eBay images and the existing eBay images are not retained in the listing.
When attaching a Shopify product to an already existing (live) eBay listing, selecting Existing eBay listings image sync will keep the existing eBay images as they are (and will ensure they don't get overwritten by the Shopify images). If this is not selected, we will sync the Shopify images to eBay and overwrite the existing images.
By default, this integration sets eBay's out of stock preference to true. This means that your listings will be live on eBay when they reach 0 quantity, waiting to be restocked. They will remain in this status for up to 90 days. After 90 days, if the product has not been restocked, the listing will automatically end on eBay.
If you would rather have your listings on eBay end when out of stock, select automatically unpublish eBay listings that are out of stock on Shopify.
The importance of selecting the eBay main categories is to filter out eBay categories that your products will not use. For example, if you sell primarily jewelry, your products will never use Home & Garden categories on eBay so you would want to select Jewelry & Watches. Select anywhere from 0 to 5 main categories here and when the products are category mapping, only sub-categories that belong to the main categories selected here, will be used for the eBay listings.
If the Shopify products contain package settings, those settings are used for your eBay listings automatically. If the products in Shopify do not contain package settings, then the default package settings are used. Enter the average dimensions and average weight of your products.
Enter your inventory location. This is the physical location where your items ship from, for example, if you're located in the US but drop-shipping products from China, enter China here.
